Start on the official DraftKings website, with identity documents and proof of address ready in case they are requested during registration. Your Ontario account is operated by Crown DK CAN Ltd.

What do you need before you can play?

You must meet Ontario’s minimum age and complete identity verification when you register. Follow this order:

  1. 1
Confirm that you are at least 19, Ontario’s minimum age to play.
  2. 2
    Complete identity verification during registration.
  3. 3
Provide copies of identity documents and proof of address if DraftKings requests them.

Verification can also be required at any time after registration, so completing the initial check does not remove the possibility of another document request.

The App Store lists DraftKings as 18+ in Alberta; Ontario’s requirement is 19+. Apply the Ontario age requirement when opening your Ontario account.

How do withdrawals work in Ontario?

You may request a withdrawal from your DraftKings account at any time. Your Ontario balance is held in CAD, while withdrawals are made in your home currency regardless of your physical location.

Withdrawal times in Ontario are within five (5) business days. Cheque withdrawal requests have a separate processing period: they are processed within ten (10) business days and sent by mail. That processing period is not a postal delivery time.

Before requesting funds, check these conditions:

  • Identity and account validation: DraftKings will not release funds if it cannot validate your identity and account. Complete any outstanding verification request before expecting funds to be released.
  • Promotional restrictions: Promotional deposits, credits and other bonuses cannot be withdrawn until you meet the applicable promotion’s terms. Check those terms before treating promotional funds as withdrawable cash.

How can you get help or recover an inactive balance?

Ontario support is available through Chatbot, X (formerly known as Twitter), mail and e-mail. You can use these channels for account questions, including questions about an inactive balance.

If you have not logged in for three (3) years, DraftKings may classify your account as dormant. It will notify you of the funds remaining; if you do not respond, it will close the account. Respond to that notification if you want to address the balance before closure.

Even after closure, you remain entitled to recover your balance. If this applies to you, contact support about recovering the funds.
